The Ethos of Christmas

Chilly night
Dancing lights
Carols in all voice
Everyone rejoice.

Fun and joy
For every girl and boy
Gorgeous Christmas trees
For everyone to see.

Opening presents everywhere
Houses filled with fanfare
Tinkling laughter filled with love
Smell of hot chocolate held in woollen gloves.

Everybody knows
As happiness overflows
It's a day to herald and adorn
For 'tis the day the Saviour was born.

I hear his music wafting by The mellifluous sound of the flute Much before I see him pass The strains of his melody Puts my worries on the mute. The tunes of his flute Drfting through my window Uplifts my spirit Takes away my distraught Makes me ready to face the world. I run to the window to see him pass As everyday I am surprised to see His thin, old body Weary and bent But his face aglow with the music he plays.
