Remembrance

I can still remember you 
As fresh as new
The glimpse I caught of you
Amongst a sea of men
Is still imprinted in my brain. 

My recollections of you 
Are unfaded 
Though I hardly knew you - 
Your countenance in all these years
Is not a lost memory.

I hear his music wafting by The mellifluous sound of the flute Much before I see him pass The strains of his melody Puts my worries on the mute. The tunes of his flute Drfting through my window Uplifts my spirit Takes away my distraught Makes me ready to face the world. I run to the window to see him pass As everyday I am surprised to see His thin, old body Weary and bent But his face aglow with the music he plays.
