Photo Album
I took out my old photo album
And revisited my childhood.
Memories good and bad
Happy and sad
Came crashing down like the waterfalls.
The pictures were black and white
But it bore witness
To all the colours in my life.
The snapshot of myself cuddled in my mother's arms
Exuded the peace that I felt then
It made me crave that peace now.
The smile on my face as my dad and me
Played with gay abandon
Made me long for that happiness.
There was one of my grandparents
Who are with us no more
It made me miss them intensely.
There were many such portraits
That reminded me of incredible incidents
I had forgotten or kept hidden in my mind.
I took out my old photo album
And revisited my childhood.
