Not by Blood

We are not related by blood 

But we are linked in our hearts. 

We are brothers in arms

Going through life with each other's assist .

We are bonded with love - 

Our affection for each other 

Helps us to overcome all the afflictions in life.

We are a menage 

Though we are not of the same family. 

We are beside each other 

In every laughter, tear, success and failure.

We are there for each other

We are friends.

I hear his music wafting by The mellifluous sound of the flute Much before I see him pass The strains of his melody Puts my worries on the mute. The tunes of his flute Drfting through my window Uplifts my spirit Takes away my distraught Makes me ready to face the world. I run to the window to see him pass As everyday I am surprised to see His thin, old body Weary and bent But his face aglow with the music he plays.
