Their Twisted Fate - Part 2

'Family is a life jacket in the stormy sea of life ' - J. K. Rowling

We are a very close knit family of four. My father, Frank; my mother, Samantha; my sister, Rachel and I, Claire.

My father is an upright, honest man who has bought us up with love and affection to the best of his abilities. He is a warm, teddy bear of a man whose hugs made you feel wanted and protected. Though we are not a very rich family we are well off.

My mother is the backbone of our family. She is the foundation on which our family is built. She is an elegant and smart lady, well loved and respected in the neighbourhood. She is a teacher in the local primary school. Though she is an ardent social worker; her greatest passion in life is the well-being of her family.

Then there is my sister Rachel who is six years younger than me.

We are very close to each other.

When I have a problem, the first person I want to reach out to, is my sister. She knows how to reduce my anxiety and stop me from being upset like no one else can. I believe that my sister and I share a bond that I will never be able to develop with anyone else. The day she was born and I touched her for the first time I felt this connection. I am very protective of her and can sacrifice anything for her happiness.

I am Claire, a 28 year old woman. I live at home with my parents and sister. I am a writer trying to make a name in the world. A few years back when I was 24, I was an unfortunate victim of a hit and run accident. It left me wheelchair bound for life. The police could not find the person who had committed the crime even if they tried. Or it is what they told us. From that day onward all our lives changed. I don't remember anything about the accident except the number of the speeding red car as it fast-tracked out of sight and I lost consciousness. I had told the police about the number but they still couldn't find the perpetrator. Or did they?
