My Lovely Ladies

Daughters are an asset
And God has given me two,
They bring me solace during all life's tests 
My pride in them each day grows.


It seems like yesterday that they were babies 
But how time flies
They changed from cocoons to butterflies 
In the blink of an eye.

The elder is a matured young woman 
Who has a very kind heart 
The younger is a fresh young bud
Who has bloomed into a very pretty floret.

They give me strength in all I do
They are my pride and joy
They are the best friends I have 
And they hardly ever annoy.

My heart is full of prayers for them
I hope they fulfil all their dreams
To be shining stars in their lives
And the Almighty fill their lives to the brim.

I hear his music wafting by The mellifluous sound of the flute Much before I see him pass The strains of his melody Puts my worries on the mute. The tunes of his flute Drfting through my window Uplifts my spirit Takes away my distraught Makes me ready to face the world. I run to the window to see him pass As everyday I am surprised to see His thin, old body Weary and bent But his face aglow with the music he plays.
