Dad - My Champion

My father is my hero
I love him with all my heart
He may not be renowned of name
But he's still my supreme.

He is an upright man
With a heart of gold
He instills in you
A goodness of soul.

He is honest, gentle and is kind
And is passionate in all he does.
He may not be a leader or a king.
But he's still my supreme.

He is a man of integrity
His actions speaks
Louder than his words.

He is a fighter, reliable and is smart
And is a protector to all his kin
He may not be perfect or dashing
But he's still my supreme.

I hear his music wafting by The mellifluous sound of the flute Much before I see him pass The strains of his melody Puts my worries on the mute. The tunes of his flute Drfting through my window Uplifts my spirit Takes away my distraught Makes me ready to face the world. I run to the window to see him pass As everyday I am surprised to see His thin, old body Weary and bent But his face aglow with the music he plays.
